PostgreSQL Now Available on Pagoda Box

Announcing PostgreSQL in Public Beta on Pagoda Box.

PostgreSQL is now in public beta on Pagoda Box. “PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source object-relational database system. It has more than 15 years of active development and a proven architecture that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability, data integrity, and correctness.”1

Launching Postgres On Pagoda Box

PostgreSQL databases can be launched either in your dashboard or from your Boxfile.

In the Dashboard

To launch a Postgres database in your dashboard, click on the “New Data Service” button and click the PostgreSQL icon. Select your version and topology and click “Create Service”.

From the Boxfile

To launch a Postgres database from your Boxfile, simply include a postgresql database with the “beta” stability. On your next deploy, your PostgreSQL service will be provisioned.

Configuring PostgreSQL

One of the many benefits of using PostgreSQL is that it doesn't require much configuration. The project itself is finely tuned. Currently there aren’t any Postgres-specific Boxfile configs, however we know there are settings users may like to tweak. If there's a setting you'd like to modify that is typically handled in the postresql.conf, please let us know by submitting a ticket or requesting it in our IRC channel (irc.freenode.net #pagodabox).
